Story of Puzzlet

Puzzlet AI, led by founder Ryan Randall, is a platform designed to address critical challenges in Generative AI workflows. With its tools, users can manage prompts directly in GitHub, decouple prompts from code for model-independent workflows, and analyze performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency.

However, Puzzlet envisioned a groundbreaking solution to bridge gaps in the AI development space: a comprehensive platform that could integrate seamlessly with existing workflows, support diverse LLM models, and foster collaboration between technical and non-technical contributors. At the time, no such solution existed in the market.

Recognizing Puzzlet AI’s unique requirements, Carbonteq designed and implemented a scalable, feature-rich platform that addressed these challenges.

Git-Based Prompt Management: Integrated GitHub with the app, automatically versioning prompts via Git commits. Users can write prompts in markdown making them easy to read and format. There is also an option to create reusable components which can be easily imported into any prompt.

Prompt Tracking: Created open-source tools, including @puzzlet/agentmark, @puzzlet/sdk and @puzzlet/templatedx to resolve components inside a prompt. These tools leverage OpenTelemetry and Vercel’s AI SDK for advanced tracking, and use ClickHouse to store traces and spans efficiently.

Advanced Analytics: Integrated ClickHouse for data storage and Cube.js for user-friendly visualization of performance metrics, enabling actionable insights.

Collaboration Tools: Introduced role-based access, allowing teams to add members with tailored permissions. This eliminated the need for GitHub accounts for non-technical contributors, fostering seamless collaboration.
